Ever-Present
Ever-Present.
While the phrase seems simple, those two words are my rule of thumb — the one I reach for when life speeds up or shifts unexpectedly. They’re also the title of the book I’m publishing January 2026, but they became a mantra long before they became a project.
We live in a world that moves fast enough to blur the edges. Gen Z’s average attention span is seven seconds; if you gave me that long to introduce myself, I’d barely get out, “Hi, my name is—” before the moment passed. Probably wouldn’t get hired from that much, huh?
I fell in love with writing in high school, it was my escape from the constant quickening speed of life. I began to notice the beauty of the most mundane and simple moments, moments I would have missed if I didn’t take time to slow down.
Someone recently told me, “The only way to slow down… is to slow down.” And it’s true isn’t it? What would the world look like if we were a bit more present? If we listened a bit better? Lingered a bit longer? Carried a bit more curiosity and child-like whimsy?
If the world was ever-present I think it’d be just a bit more beautiful. So, it’s up to us to tell these stories that inspire genuine connection, that bring curiosity and wonder back into our everyday lives, reminding us that even the smallest moments can hold meaning.
So, if you’re reading this—let’s tell that story together.
