humble steps.

I recently was sitting in a coffee shop and heard a girl say to her friend, “Guess what?! I’ve made my bed the past THREE days!!!!”

The two squealed and clapped celebrating this milestone, or maybe a success of a New Years resolution.

I giggled quietly and thought to myself - YEAH YOU DID!! Joyfully celebrating with these strangers.

When did we stop celebrating the little wins?

Getting out of bed.

Sending that email.

Taking a deep breath.

Saying “no” when you need to.

Moving your body.

I recently came across the following quote:

“A path is formed by walking.”

Notice the word choice here.

By walking.

Not by sprinting.

Not by jogging.

By walking.

One foot in front of the other,

baby steps are still steps.

After all... Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Humble, gentle, simple, wonderful, whimsical steps.

Let’s bring back celebrating the little wins.

Step gently.

Breathe deeply.

Make your bed.

And trust that your path, formed one humble step at a time, is exactly where you’re meant to be.
